Piers Francis Enjoying Competition In Saints

New Northampton Saints Piers Francis, who is at the fly-half position, says he is enjoying the competition at the club for places ahead of the new season of the Aviva Premiership which is underway next month.


In the championship, the Saints will face Saracens the European champions on September 2 at Twickenham and it will be before the derby big home match, which will be played against the team Leicester Tigers following week.

Francis is a 27-year-old and he has joined the team recently from New Zealand side Auckland Blues, joining the team, he insists, in the team, he is not taking his position for granted at all.

Collectively, we are putting all our effort to work and play together and come out as the best, and obviously, the competition in own personal place is best for that.

This gives the reason for you get up in the early morning with excitement to face the challenge ahead.

Certainly, being here with Stephen Myler and for a long time is great; he is a player with great persona.

I am trying and looking forward to know him even better and also for the jersey’s competition which is going to be good.

For Francis, it has already been a summer with lots of good memories, he made his debut in England in the Argentina tour in summer, and he believes that, he is seeking much more recognition of international level in the future.

According to Francis, “The experience was a great one and for me it is an ambition of a lifetime. Yes, I am in a hurry and excited both, to get into the new environment and show my best game.”
